Solar Panels

Mercy College has 101 solar panels installed on the roof of its science building with a total system capacity of 17.697kW.

Solar panels numbering 36 were first installed in Feb 2008 then in Aug 2009 28 more panels were added to bring the number to 64. In July 2010 another 37 were installed to make the total number of panels 101.

The panels produce electricity which is consumed by the school, reducing its carbon footprint and the school's power bill.

Mercy College Mackay displays comprehensive data relating to its solar energy production via an independent website. You can see how much power we're producing at any given time, as well as the amount we've produced in the past - starting July 7 2010.
